Who supports successful reintegration? RESIZE has the answer.

Every day, thousands of professionals across Europe work to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of people who have been sentenced. Yet these professionals often come from very different sectors, roles, and educational backgrounds, with no common framework to recognise and develop the competencies needed for this important work.

The RESIZE Framework was created to change that.

Developed within the RESIZE project, the framework helps identify and map the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed by professionals working across the correctional and rehabilitation ecosystem. It provides a shared foundation for learning, professional development, recognition of prior experience, and future career pathways.

Who is it for?

👮 Prison and correctional staff
⚖️ Probation and justice professionals
🧠 Psychologists and rehabilitation specialists
📚 Educators and VET trainers
🤝 Social workers and community practitioners
🏢 NGOs supporting reintegration and social inclusion
🌱 Volunteers and peer mentors
🎓 Future professionals entering the sector

How does it help?

✅ Defines the competencies needed to support successful rehabilitation and reintegration
✅ Supports professional recognition and lifelong learning
✅ Creates clearer pathways for upskilling and career development
✅ Bridges gaps between correctional, educational, social, and community services
✅ Contributes to more human-centred, rehabilitative, and community-integrated justice systems

The RESIZE Framework recognises that successful reintegration is not the responsibility of one profession alone—it requires collaboration across an entire ecosystem of practitioners working towards a common goal.

On 12–13 May, the BrainLog team, together with Fængselsforbundet i Danmark, represented Denmark at the Promote Project 3rd Transnational Meeting, hosted by our Lithuanian partner, BETI, at KTU Kauno technologijos universitetas/Kaunas University of Technology M-Lab, Kaunas.

Over two productive days, the consortium reviewed project progress and validated key results in curriculum design, the digital learning platform, virtual simulations, and micro-credential certification.

The meeting also marked an important step towards the next phase of implementation: WP4 – Delivering Learning Pathways and Career Guidance. Together, partners aligned the upcoming activities for international pilots across 7 European countries, further strengthening cooperation between education and training providers, correctional services, social organisations, and technology partners.

Promote Project continues to develop innovative educational pathways, digital learning solutions, and vocational training opportunities that support rehabilitation, inclusion, skills development, and professional reintegration within the correctional sector.

A big thank you to BETI for hosting the meeting and to all project partners for the valuable discussions, collaboration, and shared commitment to the project’s goals.
