📣 Canopy Piloting Competitions 2026 🪂

We have a few updates and practical information for this year’s CO at Dropzone Denmark – so please read carefully if you’re thinking about joining.

🪂 C-Class – entry-level will include 3/4 – disciplines:

🎯 Precision / bullseye
⬛ Square accuracy
🪁 Kiting
🔺 Possible pyramid format

If you are a newer or canopy pilot and want to get your first taste of competition, this is for you. All you need is a valid skydiving license.

🪂 B-Class – intermediate canopy piloting
✔ Accuracy
✔ Distance
✔ Speed

Because we have seen incidents in the intermediate category in previous years, we are adding a few safety requirements to make the competition safer for everyone:

✔ two mandatory training days
✔ you must be approved to jump the pond and participate in the competition

If you dont have pond experience, or if you are not personally known by the organisers, we will need a recommendation from a canopy coach or a fellow competitor.

So if you are a new pilot joining the intermediate group, please bring a recommendation – or send it to us before the event.

The rules will also be slightly adjusted:
✔ 3 mitigation gates, as in previous years
✔ No requirement to touch water
✔ No downwind rounds during competition days

This means that if the wind comes from the east and we cannot turn the course, the intermediate group will be grounded for that period.

Most days we expect western winds, so hopefully this will not be an issue – but this rule is in place for safety.

🪂 A-Class – advanced canopy piloting, will run as you know it and will follow normal competition rules.
✔ Accuracy
✔ Distance
✔ Speed
✔ Freestyle

You do not have to sign up for freestyle if you only want to do the regular CP disciplines – and you are also welcome to sign up for freestyle only.

This is also a great opportunity to get ready for the World Cup next year at Dropzone Denmark.
