The latest IFR figures confirm that Denmark remains among the world’s most automated nations, driven by strong growth in key industries such as food and pharmaceuticals. This underlines a crucial point: Automation is no longer optional but essential for building resilience and future competitiveness. To fully leverage this development, companies must move beyond siloed systems and fragmented processes, creating integrated, data-driven production environments where robotics, AI, and IT work seamlessly together.
The latest figures from the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) show that Denmark continues to stand out as one of the world’s most automated nations, with particularly strong growth in industries such as food and pharmaceuticals. While overall European robot installations are declining, Danish companies are accelerating their investments in automation to strengthen resilience and competitiveness.
For Intelligent Systems, this is a clear sign of a critical shift in the market. Automation is no longer a question of if but how well companies can integrate robotics, AI, and IT into cohesive, data-driven ecosystems. Many organizations still operate with siloed systems — from production machinery and robotics to business platforms like WMS or ERP — which prevents them from fully realizing the benefits of these technologies.
The IFR data underlines the urgency of moving beyond fragmented approaches. As automation adoption grows, the complexity of integration increases. Companies must ensure reliability, cybersecurity, and compliance while creating flexible systems that can adapt to future technologies.
At Intelligent Systems, this development supports our mission: to act as the “glue” that connects systems, robotics, and data. The report validates that the companies who succeed in building smart factories and warehouses today will be the ones defining competitiveness tomorrow.
In short, the IFR figures aren’t just statistics — they represent a call to action for Danish industry to embrace connected, intelligent production. And they reaffirm why our work is critical: helping companies take the next step from isolated automation projects to fully integrated smart production environments.

It’s great to see this topic making its way into the public debate. 👏
For companies that manufacture or handle physical goods, future competitiveness depends on making factories and warehouses smarter. The need is already here – and with the rise of AI and advanced robotics, it will only grow.
But before these technologies can truly deliver value, companies must move beyond siloed systems and fragmented processes - everything needs to work together seamlessly. That’s not easy. It requires tackling technical debt, ensuring data quality, and meeting strict requirements for reliability, compliance, and cybersecurity.
The effort is significant – but the rewards are even greater. Connecting automation across the entire value chain creates the foundation for real-time insights, faster decisions, and ultimately a smarter, more resilient business.
The foundation is there – now it’s time to unlock the potential before competitors do.
