Bespoke’s Futures Design methodology is going on display at 💥

For the past five months, we have been collaborating intensely with and on a project to explore the power of the future as a design process.
We are honoured to be featured in such an iconic institution within the tradition; and it has been an inspiring journey to see the futures that passionate young want to create.

SHARING FUTURES - A NEW DIGITAL EXHIBITION ON FUTURES DESIGN.

Can 'digital nature' help improve our mental health in future lockdowns?
What does the workplace look like in 2030?
How can museums become more inclusive spaces in the future?

Explore these questions in the upcoming digital "SHARING FUTURES”, where five graduating students from The Royal Danish Academy have worked with our Futures Design methodology to explore some of the most relevant emerging challenges and opportunities.
In SHARING FUTURES you will be able to follow their process, from signal scanning, to initial ideas, to speculative concepts, and become wiser about how designers can actively work with the future.
The exhibition can be experienced on the museum's website from June 2021.

The project is supported by

SIGNAL - Climate change, biodiversity crisis, financial instability, political segregation, nationalistic rise, increasing inequality. The world seems more unstable and grim than ever. Despite a dystopian future at-hand, it seems that we, as a species, are in lack of imagining collective better futures.

Solarpunk is a form of speculative fiction which explicitly depicts green futures. It has sprung out as a niche literary genre and is growing as a speculative and inspirational world-building phenomenon, and may be a valuable tool in promoting action by overcoming widespread cynicism about the future.

Like its genre predecessors, Steampunk and Cyberpunk (and many more), Solarpunk is reliant on an aesthetic that extends to architecture, design, fashion, and art. Solarpunk fiction is thus a useful tool for sustainability educators because it encourages critical examination of one’s environmental impact.

Solarpunk stories often function as counter-hegemonic stories by intertwining issues of race, gender, sexuality, class, and colonialism with an ecological ethic.

SIGNAL - In the 1960s and 1970s, collectives emerged to change aesthetic impressions and to cross genres and boundaries between life and art.
Today, many art collectives are based on individual challenges with our working life.
