How can environmental education move beyond the classroom and become a memorable experience for children?

In Denizli, Türkiye, 600 learners and 70 educators came together for a large-scale LEAF Festival that transformed a public park into an outdoor classroom. Across 25 interactive workshops, learners explored biodiversity, birdwatching, beekeeping, compost production, local seed conservation, and creative activities using natural materials.

Through LEAF, rather than learning about ecosystems through theory alone, participants are encouraged to engage directly with nature, developing practical knowledge and a stronger connection with their local environment.
