Huge congratulations to MC Dave on the release of his debut album - "Wonder"!

It’s been an absolute honor to be involved in the process. From recording and mixing many of the tracks to mastering the entire album.
Throughout Dave has been clear and intentional with his vision, and the result is a sonically cohesive and stylistically confident album. His honest, heartfelt lyrics take center stage, supported by a creative use of vintage samples that bring real character to the sound.
The album turned out amazing, and I’m truly proud to have worked on it. Go give it a listen!

My first album is out today’

Made this during Covid and it’s the first time I produced my own beats. The album is based on sitting down to meditate every morning, and the notes that came after.

My favorite tracks are the road, reactions and the lyrics from nomind ☺️

The latest addition to the expanding analog chain - an SSL compressor for that gluey compression for a lot of contemporary genres. This new iteration of this classic unit makes it very versatile for both mastering and mixing as well. Now it’s time to dig deep into the capabilities of this piece! 🎛️

I paid Lundgaard Studios a visit this weekend to learn about their approach to mastering and to see their facilities. It was a great learning experience that showed me, once again, that there’s always something to learn in this field once you go down the rabbit hole.

We talked about analog/digital workflows, loudness, specific mastering techniques, the evolution of the industry and the mastering engineer’s role through the last 40 years.
I definitely learned that there are some refinements I can make in my setup and the way I approach things in my studio.

Lundgaard Studios is a real gem. It’s an important pillar of danish music legacy and multiple mayor artists have recorded here through the last 30 years. And understandably so, it’s a beautiful and quiet place in the country side - just a great place to be creative and work on your music.

It was a great visit with hospitable, knowledgeable and passionate people. Hope to come back some day soon

To improve my mastering workflow I made this “Pre Mastering Calculations”-pdf.

1. I use RX-Audio editor to listen, QC and analyse the waveforms stats of a given tune/.wav.
2. I input these observations + stats in the form and it makes calculations that helps me during mastering.
3. This helps me predict how my gear will react and what to do next, thus securing the best outcome in the end.
