So, freshly back from spending two weeks exploring the country, we asked her to share her honest experience.

She reflects on what surprised her most about travelling through Angola, from the warmth and kindness of its people to the sense of peace and pride she encountered wherever she went.

📍 Travel note: Praia do Soba is around 80 km from the city of Namibe. Access is via desert tracks, so a 4×4 vehicle (such as a Toyota Land Cruiser) is strongly recommended, and it’s best visited as part of an organised trip with an experienced local guide or tour operator.

⚠️ Important: This trail should only be undertaken with an experienced local guide from Kalandula Falls. The route becomes very wet, muddy and slippery as you approach the falls, and sections can be challenging. A good level of fitness is essential to complete the hike safely.
