🌍 Human Rights Day 2024 🌱

On this day, 10 December, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, calling for equal dignity and worth for every person on this planet.

Today, climate justice is human rights in action.

The climate crisis affects everyone, but some more than others. Farmers, indigenous communities, marginalised groups, and those with the least access to resources bear the brunt of its impact the most. Extreme weather events and their consequences hinder the basic right to livelihood, health, and food.

At ClimatePartner, we believe that climate action and empowering people go hand in hand with climate projects. These projects don't just avoid, reduce, and remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, but also support the lives of local communities most affected by climate disasters.

Clean drinking water: How technology improves the lives of people and the planet 💧

According to UNICEF, 2.2 billion people worldwide, 26% of the world’s population, do not have reliable access to safe and clean drinking water. Contaminated water and poor water hygiene can cause severe gastrointestinal diseases. But to access clean drinking water, people must travel long distances to the nearest point where it’s available, whether a river, lake, pond, or other surface water. After getting this water, they would then have to boil it over fires, which is time consuming and leads to higher rates of deforestation. Plus, the fire produces carbon emissions and harmful levels of smoke that affect mostly the women and children of these communities.

Enter clean drinking water solutions. The benefits of these technologies:
🌱 Contribute to climate change mitigation by reducing emissions
⏳ Save money and time
🌿 Lower rates of deforestation
🌍 Reduce indoor air pollution
