Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon)
Discovered on January 3rd, 2025, by the Mount Lemmon Survey, this non-periodic comet currently graces the skies of the Northern Hemisphere. In October 2025, it is steadily brightening and has become a wonderful target for observation with binoculars or a small telescope. By the end of the month, it is expected to reach a magnitude of around +2.5 and may even become visible to the naked eye.
Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) is non-periodic — meaning it will not return in the foreseeable future. 🌌
Its orbit is highly elongated (likely hyperbolic), suggesting that this is a one-time visit to the inner Solar System. After passing perihelion (its closest point to the Sun) in November 2025, it will gradually move away and may never return — or, if its orbit is slightly elliptical, it could come back after tens of thousands of years.
In other words, this is a unique chance to see it now. ✨

October’s Supermoon
🌕✨ Supermoon in October ✨🌕
This autumn, the sky treated us to a stunning phenomenon — the Supermoon. It’s called that because the Moon appears larger and brighter than usual. This happens when the full moon coincides with the perigee — the point in the Moon’s orbit when it comes closest to Earth.
🔭 During this period, the Moon is about 356,000–360,000 km away from us (its average distance is ~384,400 km). Thanks to this proximity, it appears up to 14% larger and about 30% brighter than a typical full moon.
🌌 To the naked eye, the difference isn’t always easy to spot, but the impression of a bigger, glowing Moon rising above the horizon is truly magical — especially in the early evening hours.
The photo consists of two frames: one for the exposure and one for the Moon itself.
