🚨 Speaker Reveal! 🚨

We are delighted to present Antonio Martins da Cruz, a renowned speaker at the forthcoming European Public Policy Conference.

Ambassador da Cruz has held a long and distinguished career in both diplomatic service and as a policy maker in Portugal. His extensive experience includes service as foreign affairs advisor to the Prime Minister of Portugal and head of the Diplomatic department of the Prime Minister's office. He has also held distinguished positions as Portugal's Ambassador to NATO and Spain. In 2002, Ambassador da Cruz was both Foreign Minister of Portugal and served as the Chairman-on-Office of the OSCE. Ambassador da Cruz continues today to use his wide breadth of experience as an advisor on various international policy issues.

🚨 Speaker Reveal! 🚨

We are delighted to announce Tom Snels as a speaker at the upcoming European Public Policy Conference.

Tom Snels is the Head of Unit for Schengen Governance at the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission in Brussels. He holds master's degrees from K.U. Leuven, the College of Europe, Columbia Law School, and INSEAD.

📑 Before joining the Commission, Tom practiced competition law as an attorney in New York and Brussels and served as a référendaire at the European Court of Justice. He has held various roles within the Commission, including deputy Head of Cabinet for the Commissioner for Home Affairs.

We’re excited to continue our discussion on the topic “Crossroads of Change: Migration Dynamics in the EU” with Tom in Brussels this week. We hope to see you there. ✨

EPPC is an annual conference organized by first year students from the Hertie School of Governance and funded by the IPLI Foundation. This year, we are headed to Brussels to discuss migration—inside the EU, from outside the EU, and those seeking protection in the EU.
