102 years ago, the country of Czechoslovakia was proclaimed! 🎉⁠

During the First World War, today Czech Republic's territory was a part of Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the end of the war, it was almost sure that the empire would soon collapse.⁠

On the 28th of October 1918, without waiting for the official end of the war, crowds of people gathered on the Wenceslas Square in Prague.⁠ They removed Austrian symbols from building and statues and carried white-and-red flags of Bohemia.⁠

Finally, in that place, a group of politicians announced the independence of Czechoslovakia! 🇨🇿⁠

We can't celebrate in the streets today, but we remember! ❤️⁠
