Víly gravitace

Sousoší odlitých figur Barbie do kovu reprezentuje temné víly spoutané zlatým řetízkem. Podle mytologie je tento řetízek vytvořen z Afroditina opasku a má moc přinutit každého mluvit pravdu a podřídit se tomu, kdo jej drží.

Sousoší sestává z dětských panenek připomínajících pohádkové víly. Nejde o éterické bytosti, ale naopak o temné postavy spojené se zemí a podsvětím, které ovládají duše mrtvých a představují síly působící mimo lidskou kontrolu.

V galerii je dílo instalováno na pevném řetězu zavěšeném na váze, která číselně vyjadřuje jejich tíhu. Zlatý řetízek svazující jejich těla zároveň funguje jako ochrana před jejich mocí a připomíná, že i síly podsvětí mohou být podrobeny vyššímu řádu.

Gravity Fairies

This sculptural group of Barbie figures cast in metal represents dark fairies bound by a golden chain. According to mythology, the chain is made from Aphrodite’s girdle and possesses the power to compel anyone to speak the truth and obey the one who holds it.

The sculpture consists of children’s dolls resembling fairy-tale fairies. They are not ethereal beings, but rather dark figures connected to the earth and the underworld, controlling the souls of the dead and embodying forces that exist beyond human control.

In the gallery, the work is installed on a fixed chain suspended from a scale that numerically expresses their weight. The golden chain binding their bodies simultaneously serves as protection against their power, suggesting that even the forces of the underworld may be subjected to a higher order.
