Recently, O2 - the U.K.’s largest mobile network operator, introduced the concept of a chatbot built to irritate phone scammers. It mimics a chatty older woman who would keep up an engaging conversation with scammers forcing them to stay on the line as they try to obtain her (fake) bank details.

AI Grandma - “dAIsy” combines different AI models that allow transcribing the voice into text and then generating a relevant response, and voicing it over as O2 stated in their press release. The AI was trained in part by Jim Browning, a “scambait” expert with a huge YouTube following.
