American poet, essayist and scholar Louise Glück (b. 1943), the recipient of various other literary accolades including the Pulitzer Prize, has been awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize for Literature!
Glück, whose oeuvre was chosen for "her unmistakable poetic voice, that with austere beauty makes individual existence universal", is noted for her technically precise style, themes of isolation, sadness, family relationships and death, and her captivating lyrical reworking of classical myths.
