Our Journey!
The story of our community began in 1955, marking the start of a legacy that has shaped chemical engineering for decades. In 1962, this journey officially continued under the name CHISA, an acronym for the Congress of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Equipment Design and Automation. As the field evolved, so did we, transitioning to our current name—the Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering—to reflect our broader global impact and modern industry standards.

Throughout this time, we have proudly hosted the world stage in Prague, most notably through the joint CHISA and ECCE congresses, which solidified our place at the heart of the international scientific community. Today, this 70-year heritage remains the engine driving us toward CHISA 2026, where rich tradition meets the vision of tomorrow.

CHISA is one of the longest-running and most established chemical engineering congresses in Europe, bringing together experts from academia and industry for decades. We look forward to welcoming you to Prague, a historic city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Our ScienceSlam is here for you!

You have five minutes on stage to show us what you’ve got. (Almost) everything is allowed. You can dance, sing, bring props…

It is organized by students for students, and there is a cash price of 1,000 EUR for the winners.

If you are interested, send us an email with the name of the contribution, your university and the year of your studies.
