Are your green fingers also very restless in winter? I bet you can’t wait to start growing veggies from seeds and repotting!

And I have two tips for you - two activities to make your green heart happy – an indoor greenhouse and a plant terrarium.

Last Christmas I got an indoor plant terrarium as a present. In January 2024 I planted it according to the attached guide.

Not only it didn't die, dry out or mould! It looks like the plants are thriving, especially the two ficuses. The fittonia and moss would probably enjoy more moisture, but I am a bit afraid to close the terrarium now. It would start the humid environment, but I am not sure if such a sudden change wouldn't actually kill the plants. So I leave it as it is.

Havlíček Gardens (Havlíčkovy sady), also known as Grébovka, are situated on a slope, connecting Vinohrady on the top and Vršovice on the bottom. The dominant feature is a wooden gazebo overlooking vineyards. From the upper parts of the park you can enjoy great views of the city towards Vršovice, Michle and Pankrác.

Probably the most beautiful part of the park is a fountain with the statue of Neptune and the surrounding grotto.

If you stand at the fountain and look up to the grotto, you can see the colourful houses in the U Havlíčkových sadů street.

You can walk through the grotto and explore many hidden nooks and mini caves. On top of the grotto there is a platform overlooking the fountain.

There are also playgrounds for kids and a cafe in Grébovka.

The park is situated on a hill, but everything (maybe except the inside of the grotto) is accessible with a pram. The nearest tram stop is Nádraží Vršovice.
