1 Time

You were one of the first coaches to unofficially start recruiting me in the 9th grade, and I never forgot that. That early recognition from you and your staff was the primary catalyst behind my decision to commit to USC.

Once I arrived, your staff always told me that you had an affinity for me, and you showed it. Even though I did not finish my career at USC, the experience provided life lessons that stayed with me.

In one of our team meetings,I will never forget you ripping up a newspaper and then putting it back together. I’m still trying to figure out how you did it. Or the time a storm was about to roll in during practice and you essentially yelled at God, and the clouds literally parted around the field. Anyone who was there can attest to that moment.

I also remember when I would score during practice and you would pick me up in the end zone and drive me back to the huddle while smoking your pipe in your infamous golf cart. We could literally smell when you were entering the football field. So many memories in such a short time.

42 came fast…. I’m blessed though. A loving family, great friends, good health, shhiiddddd. We good. Peace and love is all I want.
