The last light fades on the Grand Canyon after a winter’s day. The snow adds a unique element to this photo because it’s not something I ever picture with the Grand Canyon. I think of it as an arid, desert like place that gets little precipitation, but average annual snowfall for the South Rim is 60 inches! “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” ‭Isaiah 55:10-11‬

This scene reminds me of medieval times with the castle perched on top of a hill, the castle walls surrounding it, and the town below. I love how beautiful it is when they all light up at night! “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” Psalm 127:1
