🔬 Genetics fun fact for breeders!

Out of curiosity, we ran our Rhodesian Ridgeback genetic PACKAGE on a Weimaraner breed – and the results are really interesting 👇

1️⃣ RIDGE predisposition:

r/r – ridgeless/ridgeless 👉 exactly as expected, Weimaraner is genetically ridgeless (no ridge).

2️⃣ JME: N/N (clear)
3️⃣ MH: N/N (clear)
4️⃣ D-Locus (dilute): d1/d1 👉 homozygote for dilution
5️⃣ B-Locus (brown): bc/bc 👉 homozygote for brown
6️⃣ Hemophilia B: Xn/Xn (normal)
7️⃣ EOAD: N/N (clear)
8️⃣ RRIVA: N/N (clear)

🧬 What does it mean in practice?
The Weimaraner is:

Genetically ridgeless (r/r)

Its famous lilac/grey coat is the result of brown (b/b) + dilution (d1/d1) working together.
