Main points for Today
• ECB minutes reveal division on QE end-date
• Yesterday, the ECB released the minutes of its October gathering, where the Bank reduced the future pace of QE purchases but did not set an end-date to QE.
• They revealed that a “few” members preferred to set an end-date, instead of leaving QE open-ended.
• Meanwhile, Eurozone’s PMIs for November showed that the bloc’s economy likely accelerated further in Q4, with all the indices beating their forecasts.
• EUR traded a little higher overall, especially against the yen.
• Moving forward, its near-term direction could depend on the German political outlook.

WTI gains further as OPEC approaches
• Oil prices rose even further yesterday, with no clear fundamental catalyst behind the surge.
• Although it’s being attributed to the Keystone pipeline delivering less crude supply to the US from Canada, this is not new and thus is unlikely to be behind the spike up.
• Near-term, oil prices will be driven by the OPEC meeting. Further ahead, WTI close to $60 may be unsustainable, as US shale producers are likely to increase production.

As for the rest of today’s highlights:
• Germany: Ifo survey for November (09:00 GMT). The current conditions index is forecast to tick up, while the expectations print is anticipated to decline a little. The risks surrounding both forecasts may be tilted to the upside. An upside surprise could support the euro somewhat.
• Speakers: ECB Vice President Vitor Constancio (12:30 GMT), ECB Governing Council member Francois de Galhau (14:30 GMT) and ECB Executive Board member Benoit Coeure (08:00 GMT).
