For many years Cape Verde held the weight of chains in its hands, but these were broken by independence. This year we celebrated 50 years of freedom.
With open arms we carry our national hero AMILCAR CABRAL, who fought for freedom with all his strength, and on the other side, our eternal queen of bare feet, CESARIA ÉVORA, who enchanted the world with our morna and our culture, from Cape Verde to the world.
In our hearts, the love and protection of our sea turtles, whether it be the beat of CARNIVAL or SAO JOÃO.
“NO STRESS” is our motto, where we carry on our backs our islands from Barlavento to Sotavento, separated by the sea, but united in a single warmth of the sun.

Among the dolphins, we have the largest, the feared BLUE SHARK, personified as the symbol of our national football team. The crashing of the waves on our feet and the nets in our hands to bring sustenance to our families.
