The Industry Viaduct, also known as the Musmeci Bridge in Potenza, designed by Sergio Musmeci between 1967 and 1976, is a masterpiece of structural engineering and architectural innovation. The bridge’s flowing, organic design uses concrete in a way that mimics the fluidity of natural forms, pushing the boundaries of material and structural possibilities. Musmeci’s vision was to create a bridge that felt like a natural extension of the landscape, and its thin, curving arches are a testament to his pioneering approach to engineering.
