It’s May the 11th in Nace’s hotel room on the 3rd floor of our hotel in Liverpool. My phone clock says it’s 11.57AM and our delegation crew call was for sure set at 12.00 down in the hotel lobby, so the bus could pick us up and take us on an absurd ride to the M&S Arena which was basically just next to the hotel. But before that, I really wanted to do a fun visual of the band waking up in the same bed on the semi-final morning. The general idea was to do a video where they all pop out the blanket and adress the Eurovision fans in the morning - after all, our mission still was to quallify for the Eurovision finals later that night. Anyways, we start to film the video, but we were missing something for the start of the video - a wakeup alarm was a great idea. Anja who was in the room with us tried to put it on, but it just somehow wasn’t working once she set it up, so Bojan insisted to take over. I really don’t consider myself as a photographer, but I’m happy I saw that moment. It doesn’t just resemble the feeling of the that time and everything the band was going through, but it was also the morning that closed one chapter and opened a new one. It’s just so much more then just a photo to us and even if only we really know its feeling, I strongly believe you can feel the same love, passion and dreams throughout the Joker Out music. Anyways, I turn on my iPhone photo mode, make 6 photos without telling anyone and no matter how hard we tried to find a better fit for the album cover, we all felt this is the one.
