What is an ?
An essential oil is a typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic fragrance of the plant from which it is extracted. The oils capture the plant's scent, also called its "essence." They are part of the plant's immune system and yet a separate substance created from the plant. Oils are extracted from various parts of the plant or tree, wood or trunk, leaves, grass, needles, cones, flowers, flower buds, twigs, seeds, seed pod, roots, rhizomes or resin/gum.
