"The Demonstratives"
Hello children, good morning, today we are going to learn the demonstratives in English together.
This, that, these, those are the demonstrative pronouns and adjectives in English, this is their meaning:
- This (this, these, these).
- These (these, these).
- That (that, that, that, that, that, that).
-Those (those, those, those, those).
If you find it before the verb it is a demonstrative pronoun.
EXAMPLE:
This/that is my bag. (That/that is my backpack).
These / Those are his clothes from him. (These / those are his clothes from him).
If you find it before the name it is a demonstrative adjective
EXAMPLE:
This/that bag is mine. (This/that backpack is mine).
These / Those clothes are his. (These/Those items of clothing are yours.)
