Why are wind turbine blades transported at an angle instead of lying flat?
The tilt is intentional—it reduces width for tight turns, lowers the center of gravity to prevent rollovers, and distributes weight evenly to avoid damaging the specially-engineered composite material. The angle also leaves more room for passing vehicles and lets the blade tip tuck in safely along cliffs, adapting smoothly to steep grades and tight curves.
This is a scene from the blade transport for the Black Peak 150 MW Wind Power Project in Serbia. The massive blades, tilted at an angle on specialized trailers, were successfully delivered to their mountain-top positions and installed.

One-piece design: the optimal solution for wind turbine blades.
At the Black Peak 150 MW Wind Power Project in Serbia, 84.5-meter blades were transported over winding mountain roads. Why not make them in sections? Three key reasons:
Safety: seamless construction for enhanced durability
Efficiency: smooth surface maximizes power generation
Economy: one-piece blades are more cost-effective in the long run, despite higher transport costs.
