From June 8 to 9, the Symposium on Power System Resilience, hosted by State Grid Corporation of China, was held in Hangzhou. Over 100 participants attended the event, including government representatives from 15 APEC economies, heads of international organizations, senior executives of power enterprises, and experts and scholars. Focusing on core topics such as power grid security challenges amid extreme weather and high pe*******on of renewable energy, participants exchanged cutting-edge technologies and practical approaches in power system resilience, contributing to the development of a secure, resilient, and sustainable energy system in the Asia-Pacific region.

Grain in Ear, the third solar term of summer, marks the official arrival of midsummer. During this period, temperatures rise significantly withabundant rainfall, making it a critical season for rice planting in the south and wheat harvesting in the north, hence its folk alias "Mang Zhong”(Busy Planting). An ancient Chinese saying goes: “Awned grains are ripefor harvesting and new grains for sowing.” It means awned crops such as wheat ripen, while millet and other grains await timely seeding. Traditional customs including boiling green plums, bidding farewell to the Flower Goddess and the Anmiao(meaning seedling protection) Sacrificial Ceremony embody people’s reverence for nature and wishes for a bumper harvest.More than merely a solar term, Grain in Ear carries the timeless philosophy: no pains, no gains. It inspires us to cherish time, sow hopes amid busy work and await fruitful rewards in autumn.
