Awa was both thrilled and terrified. She had never sung for the forest spirit before, but she knew it was a great honor. She prepared herself, and at dusk, she walked into the forest, her voice trembling. As she began to sing, the trees seemed to sway, the rivers hummed in harmony, and the forest spirit emerged, its eyes shining like stars.

The spirit was pleased, and it granted Awa's village prosperity and protection. From that day on, Awa was known as the Songkeeper of the village, and her voice was cherished by all.
