I was talking with someone and she said “I wish my life was as easy as yours.” I laughed so hard and said “I wish you could have a little peek of what I go through.”
In our journey through life, it's common for people to perceive their own struggles as hard while assuming others have it easy.
However, let me address a common misconception – there is no inherently hard or easy life; there are only decisions.
Consider this:
It's hard to stay in shape. It's also hard to see your body look terrible.
It's hard to live a life of purpose. It's also hard to live without purpose.
It's hard to acquire new knowledge. It's also hard to remain stagnant and miss out on growth.
It's hard to start a business. It's also hard to regret never taking that entrepreneurial leap.
It's hard to save and invest wisely. It's also hard to face financial instability in the future.
It's hard to work on self-improvement. It's also hard to remain unchanged and unfulfilled.
It's hard to step out of your comfort zone and explore the world. It's also hard to miss out on incredible experiences and cultures.
The key takeaway is this: life's challenges will always be part of us, and we have the power to choose which hardships we embrace.
By making conscious decisions, we shape our paths and determine the nature of the difficulties we face.
So, choose wisely, for in the choice of your hardships lies the essence of your journey.
I have chosen my hard. Have you chosen yours?
Cheers

Few days ago as 2024 was approaching, I have been engaging in some soul-searching to identify actions that will propel my life, career, and business forward.
Last year, I chose not to set New Year's goals, having long ago abandoned New Year's resolutions in favor of daily self-improvement. For instance, whenever I notice a bad habit or an action detrimental to my growth, I immediately discipline myself to address and rectify it.
I conduct monthly self-checks to ensure that my life is centered around value-creating activities and habits. This commitment is so integral to my routine that I even schedule movie-watching in my calendar. There is no need for a New Year's resolution when one's life is dominated by such purposeful practices.
You might wonder what my focus will be this year. I plan to intensify my efforts towards the decade-long goals I set in 2020, spanning 2020 to 2030.
This year, my actions can be summarized in one word: "RUN".
This concept is inspired by the Bible encounter of David and Goliath.
1 Samuel 17:40 Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.
1 Samuel 17:51 David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine’s sword and drew it from the sheath...
This isn't about running away; it's about running towards challenges, facing the giants in my path, and pursuing my BIG, SCARY GOALS in all CORE areas of my life. To 'run' means to double my efforts. What I did in 2023 was walking; in 2024, I am running.
In 2024, you either run away or run towards your goals. You cannot do both and expect to succeed.
May the new year bring you the courage to run towards your dreams.
Happy New Year!
Cheers,
