If you must preach your life, preach from your scars, not your wounds. Trauma is not an authorized teacher until its memory can make you laugh.

Until you can look at your scars and laugh in gratitude for what you survived, the blood of your unhealed wound will leak into your message disguised as wisdom.

Your experience is not an authorized message until your victory is complete and the test has become a testimony. The number of times you fail does not make you an expert on what works or cannot work in that domain.

If Saul had to preach about leadership in times of war, he would have emphasized the size of Goliath and written intelligent books on “Choosing Your Battles Wisely.”

Fear and pain from failure always sound like strategy when the heart is still bleeding.
