Yesterday, Friday, 4th, 2024, the Center for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA) had an inspiring roundtable discussion with some 15 NED trainees and community members from FAKO Division, in the South West Region of Cameroon to develop valuable recommendations to foster women's participation in decision making processes.

This roundtable which is a continuation of the NED funded project to Support Women's participation in Conflict Resolution brought together beneficiaries of local sensitization programs organised by the NED trainees (including persons living with disability) to share their testimonies on how the program has positively influenced them and their communities.

It also served as a platform for the trainees and some community members to share their experiences on the field with regards to community activism in the fight against Gender Based Violence, gender inclusion in community decision making processes, as well as the protection of persons living with disability, not leaving out the challenges faced on the field and made possible recommendations for improvement.

The challenges ranged from those specific to persons living with disability to survivors of r**e.

The session ended with recommendations aimed at empowering women to take on leadership positions and reshape the narrative around gender equality in decision-making.
