Foundation For The Inclusion And Empowerment Of Persons With Disabilities

As the fight against gender base violence around the world crescendos, we at FIEPWD are particularly concerned about women, men, girls and boys with disabilities who are the most affected in Africa.
The situation is worse for those trapped in armed conflicts like the raging war of separation in Cameroon's Anglophone Northwest and Southwest regions.
Together with our partner organization, , the Foundation for the Inclusion and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities went round sensitizing traditional rulers in some villages in Buea to stop all forms of violence on persons with disabilities.
We educated them that disabled children and youth should be supported to go to school or learn a trade than to be considered witches and wizards and subjected to cruel domestic treatment.

FIEPWD leading in relieving youths with disabilities affected by Cameroon Anglophone Conflict.
Over 20 Youths with disabilities have benefited from an economic empowerment project organized by our organization. The five- day- long training which took place in Buea, July 16-20,2024 provided beneficiaries with skills on bidding, crochet and interior decor. Organized in collaboration with Hopeful Home for All and they Association for Promoting Global Health and Wellness for Community Empowerment and Sustainability, participants discussed their fears with each other and listen to experts who spoke on self esteem building, mental health, fighting negative societal perceptions and keeping safe during shooting.
Over all, participants were motivated to use the knowledge and skills learned in improving their living conditions and achieving their goals in life.
