Sickle cell disease is inherited. It is not accidental. It follows clear genetic patterns:

• AA + AA → 100% AA (No sickle cell trait or disease)
• AA + AS → 50% AA, 50% AS (No disease, but some children may carry the trait)
• AA + SS → 100% AS (All children will carry the trait, none will have the disease)
• AS + AS → 25% AA, 50% AS, 25% SS (Risk of sickle cell disease)
• AS + SS → 50% AS, 50% SS (High risk)
• SS + SS → 100% SS (All children will have sickle cell disease).
The combinations that should raise serious concern are:
• AS + AS
• AS + SS
• SS + SS

These pairings carry significant risk of bringing a child into the world with sickle cell disease.
This is why genotype compatibility must be treated as seriously as emotional or financial compatibility. Love alone does not override genetics. Prayer alone does not change inherited DNA. Science has already given us the information,we must choose to use it.
It would be deeply unfortunate to knowingly ignore this knowledge and bring a child into preventable suffering. When awareness exists, inaction becomes negligence. Responsible adulthood requires informed decisions.
This is also a reminder that not every problem is spiritual in origin or solution. Health conditions require professional medical evaluation and management. Many young lives have been lost because conditions that required hospitals were taken elsewhere first. Faith and medicine are not enemies,but ignorance is.
