Today, on World Environment Day, RETAFO proudly partnered with the Bambui Council to launch a municipality-wide tree-planting campaign aimed at creating a greener and more sustainable environment. Through this initiative, we plan to plant 2,000 trees across Bambui, including the university community and other strategic locations.
This campaign is designed to beautify the municipality, promote environmental conservation, combat climate change, and enhance carbon sequestration. Trees are essential for improving air quality, protecting biodiversity, conserving water resources, and building climate resilience.
As we celebrate this important day, we encourage all community members, students, and stakeholders to support tree planting and environmental stewardship. Together, we can create a healthier, greener, and more resilient Bambui for present and future generations.

Today, I had the privilege of conducting an environmental protection training session with primary school children, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of caring for our environment and promoting sustainable practices.
As part of the activity, we also planted fruit trees and beautification trees within the school environment. This practical exercise helped the children understand the value of trees in providing food, improving air quality, enhancing biodiversity, and creating a cleaner and more attractive environment.
The enthusiasm and active participation of the pupils were truly inspiring. By equipping young learners with environmental knowledge and hands-on experience, we are nurturing a generation that will become responsible guardians of our natural resources.
Environmental education is a powerful tool for building climate resilience and fostering sustainable development. Every tree planted and every child educated is a step toward a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
