How can you recognize a high-quality bao? 🤓☝️
1. The bao should look tight and smooth, without any spots or dents. This shows that the recipe is well balanced and that the dough was kneaded properly.
2. The dough should perfectly complement the filling, both in texture and flavor. Ideally, the dough is fluffy and soft, but neither dry nor wet.
3. Traditionally, baos are made with especially white flour, which gives the dough its characteristic white color.
