It always makes my day seeing what people create with my yarn ♥️ Like this scarf, woven by Sybille - isn't it gorgeous?!

The scarf is now also featured on my website on the gallery page - a page where I showcase lots of projects created with SkillfullyTangled Yarn. It gives you a bit of an idea of what certain yarns look like when used in a project, and of course also lots of inspiration!

The by has been on my to-knit list since it came out last fall, and knitting all the autumn-themed colorwork was perfect to scratch that 'is-it-fall-yet?' itch! 🍁🎃🕯️🍂

I used all six semi-solid colors from the 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 collection for this cowl but you can also knit it with three, four, or five colors.

The 🔮 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 🎃 collection will come to the shop this Friday, 23. September!

Why I think sock sets are the bee's knees: 🐝

✔️ Many of us buy one skein because we fell in love with the yarn but don't know what we are going to use it for. With a sock set, you automatically have the right amount for one (or in case of small feet even two) pairs of socks, or a small shaw,l or hat, or ...
✔️ The color pairing is already done
✔️ They make great gifts
✔️ The contrasting yarn makes socks look extra fancy

With the Spring Garden collection coming on Tuesday, 22. March, the following color combos will be available as sock sets:

🌸 Vintage Rose + Fresh Cut Grass
🌸 Flower Power + Feel the Breeze

The variegated colorways of the Spring Garden collection all feature multiple shades of similar colors (well, Flower Power is an exception). There are no large sections of the same color, so no risk of pooling!

The colorways in order are:

🌸 Pond
🌸 Flower Power

🌼 The Spring Garden collection will launch on March 22! 🌸

The Yak Collection is live! 🎉

A collection of ten tonal colors, all dyed on the Yarn Sock base which consists of 70% Superwash Merino, 20% Yak, and 10% nylon.

Yak fiber is extra soft and light, while also being very breathable! Since yak wool is naturally grey – and not white like most Merino – all the colors are a bit darker and more muted.

You might be wondering 'Why only 20% yak?'. Only the soft undercoat of the yak, which is shed naturally in spring, is used for yarn and clothing. The herders manually comb their animals, which is a very time-consuming process, and a grown yak only produces between 300-700g (10-25oz) of undercoat every year. Because of all this - and because yak fiber is high in demand due to its softness, breathability, and lightweightness - it is a very expensive fiber. Mixing it with Merino makes it a bit more economical, and also adds a bit of durability!

Another gorgeous combo: Frozen Lake and Wild Yak! ❄️🐃

Frozen Lake is a cool blue with the underlying grey of the yak wool still subtly showing through, making for a faint heathered effect.
Wild Yak (the grey one on the right) is what the Yak Sock base looks like undyed: a heathered light grey that's beautiful on its own but also pairs great with all the other colors!

If I had to name my least favorite colors, it would probably be dark green and brown 🙈

Most of the colorways I create are heavily influenced by what I like and would (and often do) knit with. But I include some green yarn in most of my collections because the greens are always very popular and fly off the shelf!
And for the first time, with Spruce Forest and Elk here, I kind of want to knit a green and brown sweater for myself... Maybe an or ?
