A happy ending for the Pfyn schoolhouse storks: after the young pair had been helplessly mourning their nest for a few days, the Pfyn bird protection organisation came to the rescue with a base for the nest. With the help of the roofer, the base was installed and the fallen nest was placed on it.
The storks inspected the nest and moved back in.

Update zu den Schulhaus Störchen:
Sie haben sich nicht stören lassen und nehmen es gelassen hin, dass ihr angefangenes Nest weggemacht wurde. Kaum entfernt haben sie mit einem neuen Nestbau begonnen, der täglich weiter gedeiht. Ursprünglich gab es eine Vorrichtung auf dem Schulhausdach, die als Nisthilfe für Störche gedacht war. In dieser Zeit haben sie es aber nicht angenommen und so wurde sie wieder entfernt. Wir haben uns über die Vogelwarte Sempach und Storch Schweiz über den Umgang mit Störchen informiert. Wenn Störche einmal begonnen haben ein Nest zu bauen, werden sie dies immer wieder tun. Sie lassen sich nicht vertreiben. Strafbar macht sich, wer ohne Genehmigung fertige Nester entfernt. Wir werden weiter informieren, wie sich der Nestbau entwickelt.

The Pfyn storks successfully fledged their youngsters last year and they, like many young Swiss families, were looking for a new home. They found what they were looking for on the primary school building in Pfyn and cheerfully began building their nest.
