* Update from Ukraine 🇺🇦 *

Our team in Ukraine is collaborating with the Department of Child Services in Zakarpattia Region in Western Ukraine and the well known Ukrainian nonprofit Nehemiah to improve access to healthcare services in the region.
Zakarpattia region is home to 200 000 internally displaced persons from the war-torn eastern regions. Many children from care homes in the east have been moved here for their safety.
This past week our team was able to meet with Svitlana Yakimela, the HOD of Child Services for the region to discuss strategies to improve health services to these facilities. We also met with Tetiana Machabeli, director of Nehemiah - their organisation provides valuable support to vulnerable groups throughout the region.
Our focus for the near future is on the provision of health services to children. One of the biggest gaps in health services is dental care and that service will be given priority over the next few months. We are fortunate to have Dr. Maria Rivis, orthodontist and senior lecturer at Uzhhorod National University working with our team to help coordinate this program. We already conducted our first primary dental clinic this past month in a rehabilitation centre in the region and will be doing more over the course of the year.
