To mark the International Day of Education on 24 January, Geneva's iconic Jet d'Eau lights up in blue —an initiative led by the UNESCO International Bureau of Education (UNESCO-IBE).

This year's theme, "The power of youth in co-creating education," recognizes young people as agents of change in achieving inclusive, equitable, quality education and building peaceful, just societies.

Youth under 30 constitute more than half of the global population. They are a driving force for sustainable development, innovation and social transformation, yet they remain disproportionately affected by poverty, inequality and limited access to quality education and decent work opportunities.
