📢 Nigeria is at a turning point in its fight against malnutrition. While industrial food fortification has proven effective in addressing micronutrient deficiencies, the widespread sale and consumption of unbranded bulk edible oil, often sold in jerrycans, bottles, or open drums, remains a major threat. These oils are unfortified, unsafe, and untraceable, leaving millions of women and children without vital Vitamin A and exposing households to serious food safety risks.
