In 2019, Eiger Visuals began an investigative project inside the watch industry.
Not to create content, but to uncover truth.
We were working on a book that explored the hidden side of watchmaking:
what happens behind closed doors, who truly shapes the industry, how luxury brands build desire, and how often price is mistaken for value.
Through in-depth interviews with independent watchmakers and small ateliers, we documented innovation happening far from the spotlight, while global brands dominated marketing, distribution, and perception.
This project questioned:
1. The real value of a luxury watch
2. How brands influence and exploit consumer perception
3. Why expensive doesn’t mean exclusive, or better
4. How independent watchmakers are quietly redefining innovation
The book was paused.
The research was not.
Looking back at this footage today, it’s clear the story demands a different medium.
Eiger Visuals is now developing this project as a documentary.
A visual investigation into the watch industry, independent craftsmanship, and the reality behind luxury branding.
This is not a reboot.
It’s a continuation.
