A new year doesn’t just bring new goals.
It brings new contexts. New questions. New versions of ourselves.
For many of us, life and leadership unfold in environments that are diverse, complex, and constantly shifting.
Across cultures. Across borders. Across expectations.
What unites us is not certainty —
but the ability to adapt without losing ourselves.
To lead and live with awareness, courage, and humanity — even when the ground shifts.
As this new year begins, my wish for you is not “more ease” or “clearer plans”.
It’s clarity in motion.
The confidence to respond thoughtfully, not automatically.
And the trust that you don’t have to walk this path alone.
Here’s to walking this path together —
with curiosity, integrity, and a deep respect for difference.
Wishing you a grounded and meaningful year ahead,
Heike

We don't know what we don't know - a phrase I often use in my coaching and training sessions.
Not knowing is often perceived as a disadvantage. We often hide the fact that we don't know. We think that not knowing might affect our professionalism.
But not knowing can make you do things differently, and it can make you use your curiosity. Curiosity knows no judgement.
When we use our curiosity, we start to explore, we start to learn, we can think about solutions. Instead of assuming we understand, we should get into the habit of asking "What don't I know? What am I missing? What else do I need to know or understand?
Spending more time in initial conversations to fully understand the topic or task at hand will save you a lot of time later, minimise the risk of misunderstandings and send a signal of respect and appreciation to the people you are working with.
What was the last thing you did not know and had the courage to ask? Do you use your curiosity often enough? Let me know in the comments.
Do you need support to become a curious, inclusive leader of your team?
Let's talk!
