🚨 MARYLAND PREMIERE – THIS FRIDAY!
Something Pointless screens at on Friday, June 19 – Contemporary Short Films block at the Weinberg Center for the Arts – New Spire Arts in Frederick, MD.
About the Contemporary Short Films program:
From childhood curiosity and unexpected friendship to fractured identities and the complexities of love and loss, this collection of international shorts explores the moments that quietly alter the course of our lives. Blending animation, drama, comedy, and psychological suspense, these films reveal how seemingly ordinary encounters can carry extraordinary emotional weight.
Leading the program is Yuck! (France), Loïc Espuche's Academy Award-nominated and César Award-winning animated short that charmed audiences at major festivals including Berlinale and Annecy with its playful look at first love through the eyes of children. Alongside it is Something Pointless, a warm and thoughtful story of human connection that has earned recognition on the international festival circuit for its heartfelt exploration of kindness and purpose.
Something Pointless arrives following selections at multiple international festivals, including Carmarthen Bay Film Festival and Indie Short Fest, where its heartfelt story of an unlikely friendship and a seemingly meaningless act resonated strongly with audiences and critics.
