This Sunday we begin a new series diving into some of the most well-known and often recited verses of Scripture. You know - the kinds that show up on Bible store bookmarks, and your grandma’s coffee mug...? The types that have been repeated so many times that they have become cliché? It’s with good reason those words have occupied a position of prominence, but our familiarity with them has a way of desensitizing us to their potency. Let’s look again at some of these most familiar words.

James “the Just” - who we believe wrote the eponymous epistle - was known by his friends by the super catchy nickname, “Camel Knees.” James was known to spend so much time in prayer for the city in the temple courts, that his knees developed hard calluses, like a camel.
THAT James calls the church to pray for and with one another. Specifically he uses the examples of confession and healing; they are, for James, communal liturgies.
When we pray for one another we partner with God in re-creation, bringing order to chaos. Our prayers with and for one another are not the least we can do, they are among the most profound things we can do!

As a Holy Community, let’s learn to:
Love one another, accept one another, encourage one another, bear one another’s burdens, teach one another, serve one another, pray for one another, forgive one another, live in harmony with one another…
