I’ve been able to fit back into this sweater again and I often think about remaking it and approaching it differently.

The idea of it is amazing but as an intarsia (where the yarns are carried along behind the work all the way through) design it has a flaw of puckering and bunching because the yarns get carried over too long a distance.
The first time I made it I ended up just knitting blank sweater and using duplicate stitch to ‘print’ the design.

I think to knit this again, I would deconstruct the design into it’s separate parts (front, back, sleeves) rather than knit it as one piece and approach it as a colour work design with floats (probably loads of floats). Which means you’d have small amounts of yarn in each area to work the design.

Also I’d knit it in a softer yarn 🤣
I can’t wear this one without a long sleeve underneath and that gets very warm 🥵

Made this Fun Guy for a friend’s birthday awhile ago which delighted me to make and gave me so much joy to give.
