Alison Ritchie
A reel inspired by the anger and disgust I felt learning that the Liberal government recently passed Bill C -30 - giving cabinet the power to green light the use of banned pesticides for economic or food security reasons.
Spraying poison on our food supply.
How can anyone in their right mind convince themselves this is the way?
How did we become so disconnected from the living world that poisoning the soil became the solution?
This made me angry and frustrated. And then the grief came. But it’s all by design, isn’t it? All part of the control game.
Then I remembered that I don’t have to hand my energy over to systems that I no longer trust to nourish us, to support us, to help us birth our babies.
There’s a time for outrage and a time to remember where our power still lives. What I know is that LIFE has an extraordinary capacity for renewal, and we have never been separate from it.
There is a cycle - and we can remember our place in it.
The way we tend the soil shapes the way we grow our food.
The way we grow our food shapes the health of our bodies.
The way we care for our bodies shapes the way we care for mothers.
And the way we care for mothers shapes the future we are bringing into this world.
It’s always been one story. One cycle. Regeneration.
Living in right relationship with the intelligence woven through life itself. And maybe that’s the work of our time… not trying to control life, but remembering how to belong to it.
