๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ In the wildland fire community, our greatest strength lies in the people who make it up. Each person brings unique experiences, perspectives, and talents.

By creating safe, inclusive, and respectful spaces in both the office and on the fireline, we foster communities where everyone can contribute, grow, and thrive.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the 2SLGBTQI+ community. CIFFC and its member agencies are committed to standing by and honoring the diverse perspectives that make a stronger, more resilient wildland fire management community across Canada and beyond. Not just one month of the year, but every day. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The โ€˜Create a Cultural Burn Pathwayโ€™ workbook, developed through collaboration between the First Nations' Emergency Services Society of BC (FNESS) and the Indigenous Leadership Initiative (ILI), provides practical, community-driven guidance to support Indigenous Nations in developing cultural fire programs.

Built through years of engagement with Elders, knowledge holders, practitioners, and communities, the workbook includes seven adaptable worksheets designed to support Nations at every stage of their cultural fire journey.

This resource recognizes that cultural fire is place-based, community-led, and rooted in Indigenous knowledge.
