Conservation Areas Initiative

The Interlake is one of Manitoba’s most ecological and culturally significant landscapes. 🌲🦌

Fisher River Cree Nation, Peguis First Nation, and Jackhead First Nation - 268 focused on a number of priorities when planning this Conservation Areas Initiative.

These priorities focus on protecting the forests, wetlands, waters, and shorelines that sustain the health and well-being of the environment and the community of the Fisher Bay region.

These are the 7 priorities of this Conservation Areas Initiative:
1. Water health
2. Culture and lifestyle
3. Nature and habitat
4. Connecting natural areas
5. Fight climate change
6. Sustainable development
7. Maintaining access
