TREATY ONE POWWOW TRAIL BEGINS IN ROSEAU RIVER
The Treaty One Powwow Trail has officially begun, with the first powwow of the summer taking place this past weekend in Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation.
It was a great weekend in the community, filled with dancing, singing, culture, and connection. The weather was perfect for dancing, not too hot and not too cold, as dancers and visitors gathered to celebrate together throughout the weekend.
Our Naawi-Oodena Workforce Development Team was also on-site, speaking with community members and sharing information about the continued development of Naawi-Oodena. The team provided insight into the work currently underway, upcoming employment opportunities, and how community members can become involved in helping build the development alongside Treaty One.
Treaty One will continue to have a booth at powwows throughout the rest of the Treaty One Powwow Trail. We look forward to visiting each community, connecting with everyone, sharing updates, and answering any questions you may have.
Miigwech to Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation for welcoming us and beginning the Powwow Trail in such a good way. We look forward to seeing everyone along the trail this summer!
