HERITAGE STAIRWELL RESTORATION PROJECT
The historic stairwell on the east side of the church has been identified as structurally vulnerable and is immediately closed for use. For your safety, please do not use these stairs for regular entry or exit until repairs have been completed. This stairwell is more than an architectural feature. It is also a required emergency egress from the lower level of the church building. Restoring it is essential both for public safety and for preserving the historic character and heritage craftsmanship of our worship space. Thought of the Day – June 4th, 2026
by Linda Derry, Lead of All Saints Stewardship Committee
"God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7) is a bible verse that we come across frequently as stewards of our Christ-based community at All Saints. As members of our congregation, we freely give of our time, talent and treasure to support the church and its ministries. In addition to financial support, we also support the church with our time, our skills and our presence.
Over the last few years, I have experienced the joy of community and friendship at All Saints, both as a giver and as a grateful receiver. When my husband, Michael, was sick with stage four prostrate cancer, we were so grateful for the prayers, ministry and care he received from our wonderful clergy. And when he passed away, I felt comfort from our caring community in so many ways – the choir members who sang at his funeral, the funeral hospitality ladies who served the sandwiches and tea, and the prayers, smiles and quiet support I received from so many generous and caring parishioners. I feel joy being able to give back to God and our community through generous financial contributions and volunteering my time and talents to various ministries.
As lead of the Stewardship Committee, I give thanks for our dedicated and talented volunteers who dedicate their time to cheerfully support the community of All Saints. Even attending services on Sunday morning and making regular financial contributions, in person or on-line, is an indication of our stewardship and our willingness to share with others our love and dependence on God.
Indeed, all the caring acts we perform at home, at work, and in the community are our gifts to God and we thank Him for our many blessings.
Prayer:
Eternal God, thank you for the talents, treasure and time with which you have blessed us.
Help us to place you, our loving God, first in our lives by becoming more prayerful, more focused on loving and caring for our families and our neighbours in need.
Help us to hear your call to be good stewards, caretakers, and managers of all your gifts by sharing them for your purposes.
Help us make your priorities our priorities and to put our faith into action through service in our church, our community and our world.
May we serve you and pray with a joyful spirit of mind and heart.
Amen
